One of the simplest plug-ins you will find is Google Analytics for WordPress developed by Yoast. Its newest features includes automated eCommerce tracking as well as advanced settings and custom variables. These allow the blog data to be broken down by categories, tags, publication date and author. If you have a BuddyPress installation then it is also possible to see data based on logged in users.

Installing the plug-in is simple, download it through your WordPress admin area or directly from the website and upload it using your FTP client. Activate the plug-in though your WordPress panal, so to the settings and follow the instructions. The tracking code will be applied to all of the pages with the blog, you should allow a few hours for the tracking to start recording data.

A blog is:

a website that is easily updated
a regularly updated series of content arrange in reverse chronological order
a frequent, chronological publication of personal (or professional) thoughts, opinions or news, and Web links.
a personal , professional or practice journal

But perhaps it’s more relevant to ask – what can it do for you?
